Why Choose NUNM?
Integrative medicine at NUNM brings together conventional medicine with naturopathic and Chinese medicine. The longstanding expertise and knowledge of the university is behind every provider and student, assuring that you get the best possible care. You and your health are at the center of everything we do, and your care and treatment plan will help you achieve and maintain the health goals you set with your team.
What is Naturopathic Medicine?
Naturopathic physicians are licensed by the state of Oregon and recognized as primary care providers who specialize in identifying the underlying causes of illness and disease, and treat patients through natural means to restore and maintain health and well-being. Naturopathic medicine offers safe, cost-effective, preventive health solutions for minor, chronic and acute health conditions. You will work with your clinical care team to develop a treatment plan that works best for you. This may include a variety of interventions and diagnostics—from nutritional and lifestyle counseling, to herbal medicine and more.
What is Classical Chinese Medicine?
The practice of classical Chinese medicine is rooted in the profound ancient wisdom and time-honored experience of medical providers in China. Our faculty, expert practitioners in the field of Chinese medicine, work with their student interns to bring you the highest quality of care. They will listen closely to your health concerns and evaluate your physical, emotional and mental well-being by using diagnostic techniques unique to the medicine. Most commonly, a patient will be treated with acupuncture and herbal remedies. Other treatments may include cupping, shiatsu, moxibustion, and movement therapies like qigong.
Payment Options and Insurance
NUNM contracts with a number of insurance companies, including CareOregon and other OHP programs. We will bill your insurance for covered services. If patients are not insured, or care is not covered, we offer financial assistance under our Compassionate Care Program. Assistance is income dependent and patients seeking assistance can apply during their first appointment. We accept payment by check, cash and credit card.
If you have no insurance and do not qualify for financial assistance, we offer a time-of-service cash pay discount to all patients. Ask if NUNM is contracted with your insurance provider when you call for an appointment. Payment is due at the time of service.
